Each person who looks for a condo in Mississauga will find something different. Like downtown Toronto condominiums, Mississauga condo developments are popping up so fast you could swear they were breeding with one another. Often times, all the units in these new buildings are sold before construction is even completed. Therefore, if you're looking for a state of the art new living space, you need to look at both recently completed buildings and projects still in development. We'll introduce you to some here, though for a full listing you'll want to consult your real estate agent.
Absolute World
If you haven't heard of this development, you're the only one. Begun as an international architectural design competition put on by the City of Mississauga to help differentiate Mississauga's skyline from Scrivener Square Toronto, this winning design features an elegant twist rendered in metal and glass. Soon to arise in the center of an already established collection of plainer Absolute towers, these five-star units from the Fernbrook developer start at nearly $200,000. Features include swimming pools, activity director, BBQ sundeck, a theater, and a squash court.
Onyx Condos and Lofts
Those with the money are constantly engaged in a struggle to have the newest and most luxurious addresses. Now, rising into the Mississauga skyline to compete with Toronto harbourfront condos, comes the Onyx building by Davies Smith Developments. With the latest in environmental building technologies and features that include a rooftop lounge, units in the Onyx will be among the most expensive on the market. Though not yet completed, the Onyx's location in Mississauga's city center and its elegant black-and-white interior color scheme is sure to draw in the nouveau riche.
Parkside Village
Not to be outdone, Vancouver-based real estate developers Amacon have set about an ambitious project: revamping Mississauga's downtown in answer to the rebirth that Verve condos and other projects have brought about for Toronto. Due to be completed in 2012, Parkside Village will consist of a collection of towers in European-inspired designs, each with the latest in condo features including dog-friendly patios, adjoining retail districts, playgrounds, gardens, and rooftop green space. Units have begun selling already.
Stonebrook
If you're getting scared off by the high price tags of luxury units, you can consult the Kitchener Waterloo real estate listings instead, or follow us to south Mississauga, where United Lands is constructing their new project: Stonebrook. Units start at a more reasonable $185,000 but don't skimp on the amenities. There are balconies, an elegant modern building style, several acres of green space to enjoy, a fitness room, a library, a theater, a penthouse, and views of Lake Ontario. Though currently incomplete, residents are expected to be able to move in later this year.
