For the 20th Anniversary of The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler, let’s make this year count! The vagina embodies female power and needs to be celebrated for its individual significance to every woman. It has for so long been ignored, muted, and associated with negative connotations. Its relevance rings powerfully through the recent conversations in the media, which we are collectively learning are tales as old as time. Times up.
This play is part of the V-Day movement, where we hijack the month boasting a holiday dedicated to LOVE and implore men and women to stand together and use another powerful “v” word to make a change: our voice. We can’t do it alone.
One in three women on the planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime. This is a global activist effort to speak out against violence against women and children. Let’s listen together, laugh together, learn & celebrate, all while raising money to be donated to our local Elizabeth Fry Society, which works to end violence, eliminate poverty, & seek justice for women & children in the Okanagan.
